True story: I had decided to go to bed but then I drew this instead. This is Jude, who's Chinese name I can't be bothered to remember at all at this late hour. *ladydragona created him for Skin Deep, along with a couple other Chinese mythology-based characters collectively called the Foriegn Exchange Clique. Basically I love them.
Anyway. Jude. He wears a shirt that says "Trust me I'm a doctor." He has an improbable afro. He has several iPod Shuffles that are color coordinated to corespond to different genres of music. He breakdances for spare change so he can play DDR at the arcade for hours. His glasses are attached through his bridge piercing in his nose. Those are real. He's secretly a Fu dog. You know how it goes. Skin Deep is horribly white bread, so I'm trying my hand at figuring out how to draw different races. I think I got "he might be from some part of Asia" down okay. He tans a lot, apparently. I love him. I drew this whole thing in a half hour in photoshop for the sole purpose of drawing pierced glasses. I'm just that awesome. *ladydragona created Jude. Ain't she neat? |

Life is like a sewer. What you get out of it depends on what you put into it.
The glasses thing is freaky but cool. Rock on, Jude.

Anywho, I LOFF HOW THIS IS COLORED. All golden-age comicky goodness and all. The entire thing is very nicely done

Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.
Yeah I thought he looked a little dark/full in the face to really come off as "Chinese", but then I realized just how much of my life has been spent in the middle of White Bread, Missouri, because I'll be damned if I know anything at all about people who aren't white and I feel like I'm using racist stereotypes when trying to draw different ethnicities.
Being a dog he'd probably love you forever if you squished his hair.

Anywho, it was more the fullness of the face than anything else (lots of chinese are really dark). Also, don't know if you've heard of this, but
Drawing physical differences isn't perpetrating racist stereotypes at all, just facts. Really, it'd be more racist to draw one face type and just color it differently to portray different ethnicities
