"Read 'em and weep, Rupert." "Dammit, Eleanor, how do you keep getting vorpals?" "You gotta know when to trade your momeraths for snickersnacks. You keep hedgering your queens and you never open yourself up to mimsy any vorpals." "Frabjous, deal again."
Little illustration of a scene from the next arc of Skin Deep (oh my god one day a week is not fast enough it will be forever before I get to this arc gawwwwwwd). Eleanor Mothersbaugh (a bandersnatch) and Rupert Burton-Fitzgerald (a jubjub bird) play a round of Barrogrove, a traditional Wonderland card game. I screwed up Rupert's wings; they have long feathers on the ends of the wings and the edges of the tail that I forgot to draw, but *ladydragona can deal. SFÉ, YOU CAN DEAL.
So eventually you'll see these guys in comic-form action, but until then you get colored sketches instead. WHOO.
Rupert was created by *ladydragona. PS I love the Wonderland kids. Everyone from Wonderland looks like Dr. Seuss threw up on them, I love it.
Man I kinda dig the Wonderland kids. My favorite parts are Rupert's wings and tail, that must've been fun to color, hah. Also Eleanor's bigass claws with the little card tucked in 'em. And curled birdie feet.

Eleanor and her amazing ability to hold things without the benefit of thumbs. It's like all of her fingers are chopsticks.
Rupert's wings were pretty therapeutic to do, actually. Now when he's actually in the comic I'll probably hate him a lot for those things, though, hahah.
THANKS MAN.

I really love the coloring and the lighting in this picture. Very nice and mellow. Good for playing a card game with ridiculous esoteric names for things.
Also, Rupert's wings are made of utter win.

Yeah, it was incredible. The drugs, the sex, the all-night parties. I really miss that Shining Time Station. Ringo
I'm looking forward a lot to the next arc. These two look great, except for the little goof on the long feathers! You know, I don't think I'd ever seen Eleanor before, she has a mustache!
